Gotta Keep The Devil Way Down In The Hole!

It is that time again. My least favorite day of the year,October 31st.

Sorry, I know some enjoy Halloween, but not me. I don't like scary things. I don't like ghost, ghouls, witches, black cats, spiders, goblins, mummies, skeletons and scary pumpkins.

I loathe darkness and hate the devil.

What mixed emotions I had viewing the above picture of my sweet grandson, dressed and acting like the devil in a church drama play. Although my heart burst with pride that he was doing God's work, the sight of him as the devil, well, just scares me to death!

For some reason, as a child, I didn't think of Halloween as scary. I just knew it was a time that I would go house to house and strangers would give me candy! This was house to house in the city of New Orleans! I shudder to think of anyone letting their child do that now. Times are different.

As an adult now, I understand what the imagery of Halloween means. Personally, I have enough trouble with the devil as it is, without setting a side a day for his tricks! I am thankful, though, that churches make an attempt to counter this tradition with performing plays and dramas that highlights who God is vs who the devil is, such as the drama my grandson & granddaughter played in.

So...enough already I say!

Let's bring on the good tidings of comfort and joy!

Thank heaven for angels! LOL (My granddaughter Britney on the left)
