Sometimes Dreams Do Come True!

Every once in a great while you get to watch something unfold on TV or in this case the Internet, that you just know is miraculous!

Susan Boyle is a 47 year old woman who has never been kissed and never been married. She lives at home alone with her cat. She appears to be quite plain and somewhat "frumpy".

So one might ask what was she doing on Simon Cowell's UK version of "Idol"?

She had a dream to sing.

And Oh boy! Can she ever sing!

When she entered the stage to perform, pretty young girls in the audience rolled their eyes. The judges already had smirks on their faces. Many were poised to boo her off the stage. How could anyone who looked this plain and ordinary be able to sing?

But then the music began to play and the sounds she made with her voice was beautiful. Breath taking. She totally stunned the audience and the judges.

Tears rolled down my face as I watched her performance on YouTube. It was one of the most inspiring performances I have ever watched.

It was such an hit YouTube has the embedded feature blocked so I could not post the video here, but you can view it by clicking on this URL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

I can't help but wonder how often many of us, self included , have judged someone or something by appearance alone. How often we miss blessings because of this mind set. Looks can be deceiving. I learned that lesson as a child and it is a lesson I hope to pass on to my grandchildren and so that is why I post this today...just for the record...

Never...ever...judge a book by it's cover.

Yeah I saw this on TV too and found it inspiring.

I know what it feels like to be judged by my looks etc - I am a fat, single 37 year old woman who lives with her cat.

I may not look like much (and I can't sing) but God loves me and has given me other gifts.

God Bless

I agree. Had we been judged by our cover justly, not that we still aren't, we would never have had a second chance. I hadn't seen this video but I'm going to go watch it now! Love you MeMaw

Amazing she is. Had over 100 million hits on You Tube now - more than Obama's Inugural speech!

She was born slightly brain damaged due to lack of oxygen and has learning difficulties which makes her so much more amazing.

I have watched her a number of times and the tears run every time.
