Nothing Too Deep

Greetings everyone!

Here's hoping everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving day and week end. I was certainly blessed to have shared the day with several of my family members and I'm very grateful for having had that opportunity.

Blogging

I've certainly been out of blogging mode as of late. No particular reason why. Somebody may have to call the blog doctor for me for help!

Black Friday

This is a day that just leaves me totally clueless and speechless. I'm not a partaker at all. There really is nothing I need bad enough to get up early for or to fight crowds of people for. I understand there are many that enjoy this experience, but I continued to be puzzled by it nonetheless.

Football

Folks, here in the south we are football poor. Everyone, and I mean everyone is talking football these days. Yes, that would include myself.

Now some are into college football and some the NFL, and some both. Throw in a little high school playoffs and you could overdose on football.

And if that isn't enough you can go to your local theater and watch a football movie ("The Blind Side" which I highly recommend).

Saints

All of which leads me to mention the only football team that matters. To me...right at this time, anyway. My dear Saints have a big game on Monday night. It's not even a conference game but it is a "statement" game. Here's to wishing, hoping and to be truthful, praying, for a Saints win.

I'm quite sure I've bored to death what few readers I have left with all this football talk so enough of that.

So that's it. It's all I got. Nothing deep or profound. Be blessed everyone!

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Psalm 42:7

I'm with you on 'black friday'...not me! I never go near the malls on a weekend either. Give me the early morning shopping, when the regulars haven't started swarming yet. As to football, we have the 'disease' in Texas too. U.T. is in our 'bloodline'....
And you know...there are just those quiet times when things are just still or in a lull. The words will be there again when it's time. Meanwhile, I will wait for the next creative spurt...your blog is always one I love.
Enjoy the calm and be refreshed!

I like the way you did this post with little titles and all.
I used to enjoy getting out on 'black Friday' only for the festiveness. NEVER did have any desire to roll by post-thanksgiving hiney out of bed at 4 or 5 in the morning! Now, I'd rather go thrifting.
God bless!

Not bored with your posts at all. With you on "Black Friday." I give small holiday gifts -- lots of books -- and can't imagine pushing and shoving at 4:00 am.
Wishing you quiet times of warmth and happiness!

We hid Black Friday and then patted ourselves on the back that we didn't spend 1 red cent!!!

Debra, I agree about Black Friday as well. You couldn't pay me to get out that day.
Loving all the football that was on. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and restful weekend.

Nope! You didn't bore me! Knitting goes with football! I watched the state football play-offs over Thanksgiving weekend, (Goodnight's mom's alma mater won in their class),then the college games on Saturday, and the pros on Sunday. Not sure where the passion came from, but I love football season!

That was SUCH a great win! Bryan said we need a tshirt that has Alabama AND the Saints on it since they are both undefeated.

Have a great week!

Hi, Debra,
You didn't bore me! :)
I'm with you on the Black Friday thing. My DIL gets up early every year, not to buy anything particularly, but "just for the fun" I'm perplexed, too. heheheh
Go Saints!!!!
D
Thanks for the sweet comment you left about my angel. I really appreciated it.

I have never in my life been able to stomach going out on black Friday. I think I may have tried it once or twice in my younger days, but decided it just wasn't for me. I know someone who got up in the middle of the night to go to some sale. Unbelievable.

Your saints sure did win, didn't they? Good for them! We are unable to get the Monday night game but I heard all about it. My team (Giants) have been a big disappointment and even embarrassed me on Thanksgiving night while I was with a bunch of Eagles fans (our arch-rivals).
