Leader Of The Dance

Every once in a while, you get an e-mail passed on to you that touches the heart in a special way. This is one of them I received recently and thought you might enjoy as well. Hope everyone has a great Labor Day holiday today! I worked last night and am now just getting home, so I suppose I will be sleeping! Blessings everyone!
Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word Guidance,

I kept seeing "dance" at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,

And everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

Both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
Or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

And attentiveness from one person

And gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.

When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "I".

"God, "u" and "I" dance."

God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

That I would get guidance about my life.

Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings

And mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

And to guide you through each season of your life.

***Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; Psalm 30:11

***Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Psalm 25:5

Oh loved this. Especially the play on the "dance" and letters.

You know me, always dancing! I love this analogy of Guidance. And I love you! I hope you and your precious family have a blessed Labor Day.

Growing up in a very conservative christian era - dancing was a taboo. Last year my wife and I finally signed up for dancing lessons - mainly so I could do the father daughter dance at my daughters wedding. The reception was at our church which still does not allow dancing. So I never had the that father daughter dance which was okay with me.
Now to my point the piece you posted" after reading it, this is one of the first times I have ever wished I could dance and dance well.
Great wisdom is in the piece of following. Who ever wrote it did a great job.

Hi Debra!!!
That was a beautiful piece and well written, it makes it so much easier to understand how God can guide us in our life if we let him lead us in the right direction. God is so good to all of us, but sometimes we need a little or big nudge!!
