Morning News Or Matthew 24:6-7 ???

(Photo by Chris Higham)

Wars and rumors of wars. Nation rising against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

Famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in many different places!

~~~I'm not quite sure when I first became a "news junkie". As time goes by I find it more and more difficult to watch.
~~~So much negativity, discord, anger, deceit, betrayal, hatefulness on every hand, why do I watch, I often ask myself.

~~~Take Shawn Hannity, Rachel Maddow, Glenn Beck and Keith Oberman...please...take them all... away.
~~~I know it's not New Years yet, but I'm making a resolution. I'm going on a strict diet. Less, much less, TV News.

There. That's much better now.

~~~Thinking I'll just stick with my Book. The Book. I've read the last chapter and guess what?
~~~ Everything is gonna be alright!

***Lord, help me please to keep my eyes on the prize***. Matthew 14:29-30

When we had Direct TV (we dropped it)I found myself glued to all the news shows, zipping from one to another as if my very life depended on it. Now that we have just the local news or an occasional National program it's not nearly as bad. I have watched less and less and amazingly have more time to do important things. Go figure! I sneaked a peek at the end of THE book too! You are right. It's going to be just fine!

Yes, we must keep out eyes upon Jesus, the author and finisher of our race.

(I read your comment -- so, did you google "akimbo"? *smiling* the first time I saw it, I thought, what the heck's an akimbo?)

I rarely watch TV and never watch the news! God is in control, the Bible tells me how it all ends, worry and fear are tools of the Devil, so I just try and live each day to the fullest and when God wants me, he'll come get me! :)

Thank you for the reminder to place our faith in God and not the media or world events.
I feel that worry is an open 'door' that gives the enemy a foothold. And that causes God's people to walk aimlessly, helplessly and hopelessly.
I feel that the more we recognize the season, the more we should be evermore about our Father's business and work the harvest.
I too have read the back of the book. And I know we win! But I wanna take as many with me as I can.

I quit watching the news quite some time ago. Not because it always seems to be bad, but because it always seems to be slanted to one or another political ideology.

That's not news.

Good post - renewing the mind is tough when we feed it with negativity.

PS - If your His, it for sure ends good.

Excellent post.

It is a terrible feeling to have your kids in the room when one of the news shows is on. There is always something that makes them stop and ask questions... it is never stuff that they NEED to know either.

Our Saints did a great job this afternoon! I thorougly enjoyed watching them move on to 4-0!!

Sometimes I'm sad that we don't have paid TV. We don't get any of those stations and seldom look at TV news. I guess we're better off. Everyone's talking and everyone is in a state and everyone is angry with everyone. So it seems these days.

I do listen to talk radio, until I get tired of all the controversy and go "click" like you did. Also, reading the news can be depressing.

Yes, as Susan said, let's do our best to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Great advice! Let's keep our eyes on Christ! Let's keep our ears tuned in to Him, our Lord and Savior!

Thank you for inspiring truth!

Blessings,
