TRAGEDY

There's been a good deal of tragedy in the news this week for us all to absorb. And some even closer to my own home as well.

I know many of you ,as I, were saddened to learn of the shootings at Fort Hood.

I cannot imagine the unfathomable grief, to have a daughter or son returning from the battle field only to have them killed upon returning to their home base.

I have a son in the military. My heart grieves for those that grieve and are in such unspeakable pain and agony.

Might we remember to keep all that were affected, close in our hearts and prayers, this Sunday morning.

Have a blessed Sunday, ya'll. Hug somebody and tell them you love them.

Re Ft. Hood, I have put some suggestions for those wanting to help or interact in some way on my blog (www.blestatheist.com). Look at the second announcement on the sidebar. It is indeed unfathomable.

Debra, amen. It's tough to bear the loss of a child but to be killed by a fellow soldier is too much. My thoughts and prayers are with those families, including the family of the shooter. Their pain must be difficult as well.

Hugs,

Rose

Debra,
So hard to even begin to try to understand such violence. Our country mourns the losses of life and the loss of feeling safe anywhere today.
We're praying for the families, community, country and the tormented man who did this.

And yet, I was inspired to read the stories of heroism as soldiers put themselves in harms way to go to the aid and comfort of their fellows who were injured.

It seemed like such a slap in the face that on a day that the blogosphere was focused on peace, this man stole it from so many.

It just reinforces that peace starts at home and we all have to strive to achieve it.

My heart breaks for the families that have been tramatized by this horrible act. I pray God's comfort for their lives.
